The Toki design originates from the axe head which Maori used to chip, carve and hollow out wood & sometimes used as a weapon.

Representing strength, determination and courage in times of adversity. To wear a Toki is a great honour and was traditionally worn by Maori elders.

Each piece is unique and individual, no two pieces are the same. Beautifully hand carved in South Island, New Zealand.
This taonga (treasure) by Moreton Jewellery is finely carved from Pounamu sourced by the Ngai Tahu people from the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. The Maori people believe that a Pounamu taonga increases in mana (prestige) as they pass from one person to another and from generation to generation.

This piece comes with the complimentary kete.
