Rimu Gourmet Platter with Paua Inlay - Small
Handcrafted from sustainably sourced native NZ Rimu wood this beautiful gourmet platter has a lovely fern design in the top corner that is inlaid with a Paua Shell Koru. The soft wave shape and gently buffed edges of the platter make it a delight to hold.
The koru design (Māori for ‘”loop or coil”‘), is a spiral shape inspired by the new unfurling silver fern frond. It is a fundamental motif in Māori art & carving, where it symbolises new life, growth, harmony & abundance.
Rimu is one of the most popular of our native timbers. The heartwood timber varies in colour from a dark reddish to yellowish brown, with irregular streaks.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: These can simply be wiped with a damp cloth to remove any spills or washed in warm soapy water if necessary. Allow to air dry completely after washing. Re-oil if necessary with any vegetable oil, olive oil is fine to use. If badly marked, rub gently along the grain with fine sandpaper, then oil.
