Greenstone | Pounamu Hei Matau/Fish Hook Pendant - Small

The Hei Matau/Fish Hook represents determination and prosperity. It symbolises our relationship to the land and sea, and provides protection and good luck when travelling over water. There is also a connection to the Māori legend of Māui, the demi-god who is said to have used the fish hook he crafted to haul up the North Island (Te Ika-a-Māui) from the depths of the sea.

New Zealand Greenstone sourced from the West Coast of the South Island. Beautifully handmade by Master Carver Barry Dash in Greymouth, South Island, New Zealand.
