The Toki design originates from the traditional axe Maori used to carve and chisel ornate woodwork, and was also sometimes used as a weapon.
Representing strength, determination and courage in times of adversity, to wear a Toki is to harness this power. Traditionally, the Toki was often worn by Maori elders to signify their leadership qualities.
